ASHRAE Standard 100 Energy Goal Calcs

Energy Goal Calculations and Interactive Forms (A, B, and C) for compliance with ASHRAE Standard 100, "Energy Efficiency in Existing Buildings".

Note: Portions of the programs, tables, and design information include excerpts from ASHRAE 100-2006R and associated Public Comments through Dec. 6, 2013. Final Calculations and submittals should be verified to comply with the latest adopted version of the ASHRAE Standard 100 for each jurisdiction.

Calculations Input Form - Form B

"Building Activity Energy Targets" Table

Note: Building activity energy targets (EUI)_t1 listed in Table 7.3 were derived from Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) 2003 and Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) 2005 data by Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and represent the 25th bottom (low energy) percentile of energy use by each building category.

"Climate Zones Map and Table"

Climate Zones Map and Climate Zones Table are required for establishing the building Energy Target, based on the local climate factors. Climate Zones have been established by ASHRAE to reflect temperatures and humidity conditions for locations in the US and Canada.

"Building Operating Shifts Normalization Factors"

Adjustments to the building Energy Targets depend on the actual or anticipated operating schedule for each Building Activity Type. The Energy Use Targets are adjusted based on the number of hours that the building is operational.

Compliance Documentation

Compliance Documents can be printed after completing the calculations and can be submitted as a Compliance Record to the appropriate Building Department or Authority Having Jurisdiction. It is recommended that Forms A, B, and C be printed out, to assist with Building Department review.
